Raw Material Purchasing Specifications
(Yarns and Fabrics – Basic Chemical Products – Dyes and Auxiliaries)

1. PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF APPLICATION
This document applies to all raw materials purchased by SITIP SPA for use in its production cycle, including maintenance and water treatment stages.
It establishes the purchasing requirements for the products and materials ordered, including the maximum permitted quantities of certain substances, or groups of substances, that may be present.
Suppliers must ensure compliance with these requirements, in the forms and according to the methods defined in the tables below.
The SITIP Certification Committee is responsible for:
- monitoring any changes / updates to the reference documentation
- assessing their impact on the purchasing requirements defined in this document
- ensuring that any changes to the purchasing requirements are promptly communicated to suppliers by sending a specific declaration to be countersigned for acceptance
SITIP SPA nevertheless undertakes to carry out sample checks on the materials supplied at least every three years.

To meet the requirement relating to Antimony content, a declaration of conformity from the supplier or a specific laboratory test report certifying compliance with the maximum limit is required.
For all other requirements, it is considered sufficient for the supplier to hold a valid OEKO-TEX Standard 100 Certification.
For Recycled Polyester and Recycled Polyamide materials, each supply must be guaranteed by the supplier’s GRS Certificate (Global Recycled Standard) and the TC (Transaction Certificate) for the delivery.
For dope dyed textiles, the supplier is required to make available the SDS for the pigments used during the production stage.

Sodium hydroxide (caustic soda)
The supplier must guarantee that the production process does not involve the use of mercury cell technology.
Thiourea dioxide
The supplier must guarantee that the thiourea content is below 1,000 ppm.
2.3 DYES AND AUXILIARIES
For this type of raw material, only the supply of products and materials certified as “Bluesign® Approved” with reference to Bluesign® system black limits (BSBL) is required and accepted.
