Functional Fabric Fair – powered by PERFORMANCE DAYS® in Portland and Performance Days Munich, fairs about the latest trends in the development of fabrics for the functional textile industry, will feature the novelties of outdoor and active apparel and innovative fabrics for F/W 2024, making, as always, sustainability as one of the priority and characterizing topics.

Focus Topic “The Journey to Carbon Neutrality”, discussing the metrics, formulas, agencies and theories to quantify and measure the CO2 emissions for the fabrics used in the clothing industry.

Sitip’s sustainability strategy stems from the need to rethink any business field in a “green” perspective, based on a development model based on innovative technologies that allow the company to derive benefits in terms of economic, social and environmental sustainability through:

  • the first accountability of the 2021 Sustainability Report,
  • reducing CO2 emissions and maximizing the use of resources based on consolidating and optimizing the layout and logistics of the production plants,
  • installing a cogeneration plant and new generation wet electrofilters,
  • obtaining the ISO50001 Energy Certification by the year 2022 to improve energy efficiency,
  • the implementation of a photovoltaic system,
  • the separation, recovery and reuse of materials also through external companies,
  • the reduction of the use of virgin raw materials,
  • the transition to an energy-saving lighting system,
  • developing the range of NATIVE Sustainable Textiles fabrics, obtained from GRS certified recycled yarns produced with chemicals with low environmental impact and with a lower consumption of natural resources.

Furthermore, as a target for the year 2023, Sitip will undertake to:

  • start the process for the Organization’s 14064 CarbonFootPrint Certification, which is the quantification and reporting of direct or indirect greenhouse gas emissions (GHG – Green House Gases) connected to the Organization in order to reduce their emissions through Carbon Management and supporting the corporate CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility),
  • design a new plant for the abatement of polluting loads of waste water.

Sitip will take part in Functional Fabric Fair in a delegation of companies with ICE Agency, promoting Italian companies and their internationalization abroad, in collaboration with Assosport (National Association of Sports Goods Manufacturers). As an exclusive event of its kind in the United States, showing the latest trends in the development of fabrics for the sports textile industry, it offers those attending a significant commercial hub and an opening to the American market with the aim of enhancing the Italian presence in that area, an opportunity for Sitip to connect and further expand internationally.

Sitip at Functional Fabric Fair and at Perfomance Days Munich presents new sustainable fabrics thought for leggings and pants produced with the NATIVE Sustainable Textiles technology:
