On this page, we will discuss:

OEKO-TEX® fabrics

What is an OEKO-TEX® fabric?

The OEKO-TEX® certification is one of the most prominent in the textile sector. It equally involves and interests all players in the field: from manufacturers to distributors, from suppliers to merchants.

This is a certification issued by 18 independent research and testing institutes operating both in Europe and in Japan. Throughout the entire evaluation process, the fabrics are tested to ensure the quality of the fabrics and the end consumer’s safety.

When a fabric bears the OEKO-TEX® label, it means that it does not contain harmful substances that could affect the quality of the product during its life cycle.

Summarizing, it can be stated that every single element that makes up the fabric has been treated in an eco-responsible manner. For this reason, the OEKO-TEX® certification is essential for promoting the production of organic and sustainable fabrics.

OEKO-TEX® Certified Fabrics

OEKO-TEX® certified fabrics are a guarantee for consumers and represent a competitive advantage for companies.

  • To start the evaluation process for obtaining the STANDARD 100 certification, it is necessary to fill in the application form.
  • Following the request, one of the OEKO-TEX® institutes contacts the company.
  • After reviewing all the documentation, the scope of the audit and the success parameters are defined.
  • The test on fabrics is then conducted according to the guidelines of the STANDARD 100 certification. If the results are positive and in line with the standard’s requirements, the company receives the certification with a complete report of the findings from the laboratory.
  • Finally, an OEKO-TEX® expert visits the company to confirm all the details, both before and after obtaining the certification.

Sitip’s fabrics are OEKO-TEX® certified and meet high standards of sustainability. The Group adopts best practices on a manufacturing level to ensure the products’ quality, in a constant commitment to achieving high levels of excellence and innovation.

Sitip and OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 fabrics

Sitip – a leading company in the textile industry – has achieved the STANDARD 100 certification by OEKO-TEX®. This milestone underscores the company’s dedication to ensuring the sustainability and safety of its products.

This recognition is particularly significant for Sitip, whose OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 fabrics undergo standard and international checks. Every stage of the production process is meticulously analyzed: from raw materials to semi-finished products, all the way to finished goods.

Sitip has proven to be aligned with the OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 requirements. This is why effective management processes are adopted to protect the quality of textile fibers and accessories (such as buttons and zippers).

Furthermore, OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 fabrics are evaluated based on their use. Quality controls become more stringent if the fabric comes into direct contact with the skin. This differentiated approach allows for the application of specific standards to each textile category.

BLUESIGN® Fabrics

bluesign-certificazione

In July 2015, Sitip attained the BLUESIGN® certification for its manufacturing system. This is a gold standard for the textile industry, setting a benchmark for sustainability in terms of production and supply chain.

As responsibility in the manufacturing process increases, consumers demand for more chemical-free products.

With BLUESIGN® fabrics, Sitip shows its commitment in mitigating harmful substances throughout the whole production process. Every product undergoes a thorough quality control to monitor quality and safety standards, which are environmentally-friendly as well.

Once fabrics receive the BLUESIGN® certification, an assessment report is sent to the company with a gap analysis and benchmarking showing the areas where a growth is possible and the ones where excellence has already been achieved.

Furthermore, the BLUESIGN® experts constantly implement recommendations for making your business improve.
