SITIP SPONSOR AND PARTNER OF GIMONDI CAMP 2022

The press conference for the presentation of the first edition of Gimondi Camp took place on May 26th at Palazzo Pirelli in Milan. The educational play project for children aged 5 to 12 is scheduled for June and July in four Italian municipalities: Almenno San Salvatore, Cortefranca, Cassano D’Adda and Cene, where Sitip – among the sponsors and partners of the summer camp – is based.

The conference, presented by the journalist Eleonora Capelli, saw the participation, as speakers, of Norma Gimondi, daughter of the champion, promoter of the project, Vice President of the Italian Cycling Federation and member of the Coni Board, Massimo Gimondi, nephew of Felice, President NO.MA.SPORT Asd and of the Gimondi Camp project, Giovanni Malanchini, Councilor Secretary of the Presidency of the Regional Council of Lombardy, Antonio Borgogni, Dean of the Course of Studies in Motor and Sports Sciences at the University of Bergamo, there also to testify the presence of some students of the University Course in Motor and Sports Sciences who will accompany the children in the summer camp, as a human and educational experience and an opportunity to approach the world of work.

In a conference full of love and admiration for Gimondi, an example of sport and life, the goals of the Gimondi Camp were explained: to bring children closer to sport, cycling and the intrinsic values connected to them, such as the rules of coexistence and discipline, the incentive to use the bicycle as a green means of transport, the rules of the road, healthy fun and competition, well-being in contact with nature and with oneself, also for a correct development and for maintaining physical fitness.
